This spacebar is fully compatible with the Apple IIe keyboard layout. This spacebar is a high-quality replacement for the original one, offering superior functionality and reliability. The design of this spacebar takes into account the unique mounting points used by the original spacebar, which were typically located near three keyswitches. However, unlike its predecessor, this spacebar incorporates reinforced supports that provide added stability and durability. Inside each support there is a precisely cut hole where a custom metal rod with an ~15AWG diameter fits snugly in place. This metal rod plays a crucial role in keeping the spacebar level when subjected to uneven pressure. Furthermore, the metal rod also attaches itself to specific clips embedded on the keyboard, thereby adding an extra layer of stability and support. If by any chance your Apple IIe keyboard has gone missing its essential metal bar component, you can always have it created from high-grade 15AWG wire material. Alternatively, you could also use more commonly found 14AWG wire; however, certain areas of the bar that need to interface with clips might require some additional polishing to ensure seamless integration and proper functionality
