If you like my models, please consider supporting me on Patreon at https://www.patreon.com/bigmrtong. Parts enable the conversion of an old 5-1/4" floppy drive into a functional Intel Mini Mac setup. They allow the drive to work seamlessly through the slot and provide a secure fit. macfrontlift - This is a small, precisely-sized strip that sits under the black front facia where the drive internals used to be. It's a 100% fill design. macfrontdriveflsp - The slots in this part push-fit into the back of the drive flap (as shown) to prevent it from falling out of its hinge. The design normally attaches to the drive innards, but I did a 50% fill. macfrontboardmount - This is another precisely-sized component that holds the Mini Mac above the base and aligns the CD drive slot with the floppy slot. I attached the motherboard to this part using silicone, printing it at 40% fill. macfrontrear - This optional part requires cutting off the rear aluminium plate for use. It allows the cable to pass through and the fan to vent, along with a cutout for a cheap eBay push-to-make switch for power. The design was printed with 25% fill. The mac mini LED wire can be spliced into the "in use" red LED in front of the drive, making it work perfectly. The Power switch wires connect to the rear switch for power and reset, providing a self-contained setup. Please do not attempt this conversion using working old drives - I obtained mine from a garden shed, where it had been broken and rusty inside for years.
