Apollo in Combat

Apollo in Combat

This sculpture was initiated by Antoine Bourdelle in 1900, when he was still serving as an assistant at Auguste Rodin’s studio in Paris. He devoted several years to its creation and didn't complete it until 1909. In the final version, the artist deliberately showcased all the challenges he had faced during the process – the cracks, damages, and patches became integral to the sculpture's expression. This coarse, expressive style also marked his departure from Rodin's sculptural ideals. These 3D scans were produced using an Artec Eva with the goal of creating a digital representation as accurate as possible to the original. However, the presented scans should not be considered duplicates due to inaccessible areas and other deviations from the original that may occur.
