Apollo Control Panel

Apollo Control Panel

thingiverse

I set out to craft a unique Christmas gift for my 2-year-old son with a variety of switches and lights that he could engage with. Rather than having it operate solely on its own, I decided why not make it actually control something? My previous LEGO project seemed like an obvious fit. The end result is a Particle Photon controlled mission control 'console' for that project. A significant amount of creative license was taken, but I made a concerted effort to incorporate as many accurate and realistic elements into it as possible. Only the 3D printed components are included here on Thingiverse. The full tutorial can be found at: https://hackaday.io/project/168767-control-panel-for-lego-apollo-sets I have included the STLs, as well as the original Fusion 360 file and a STEP file to facilitate easy modifications for those who wish to do so. Print one of each item, and most of it was printed in Gray PLA along with some White, Clear and Black filaments. For the panels and abort light, the filament was changed mid-print so that the text would be visible. Videos showcasing its functionality can be viewed at: https://youtu.be/9WXlVCXgZ0Y If you decide to print it, please post a make as I'd love to see how yours turns out! Additionally, any feedback is greatly appreciated.
