The embodiment of the kouros ideal - a beardless, athletic youth - Apollo is multifaceted, representing a god of light and the sun, truth and prophecy, healing, plague, music, poetry, and much more. Born to Zeus and Leto, Apollo has a twin sister, Artemis, the chaste huntress.
