Apollo at The Jardin des Tuileries, Paris
myminifactory
Apollo stands out as one of the most significant and intricate Olympian deities in classical Greek and Roman religion and mythology. The embodiment of a kouros (a beardless, athletic youth), Apollo is revered for his association with various aspects: music, truth and prophecy, healing, the sun and light, plague, poetry, and more. Born to Zeus and Leto, Apollo shares a twin sister, Artemis, a chaste huntress. In Greek-influenced Etruscan mythology, Apollo is known as Apulu. Aristide Joseph Bonaventure Maillol was a French sculptor, painter, and printmaker. This sculpture of Apollo stands out from the majority of Maillol's works, which predominantly featured women. The sculpture is placed beside Jeanette, another work uploaded on MyMiniFactory. This object is part of "Scan The World," a non-profit initiative introduced by MyMiniFactory to create a digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks, and landmarks from around the globe for public access free of charge.
