Apollo 13 Squawk Box
thingiverse
In the iconic film Apollo 13, Marilyn Lovell, portrayed by Kathleen Quinlan, intently listens to the NASA control room audio feed coming through a small speaker in her home. The filmmakers cleverly repurposed a Tandy SP-150 speaker for the scene, which is an authentic replica of that model. To help you modify this design to suit your needs, I've included the original files created using Fusion 360 and STEP formats. In my version, I made adjustments to house a small Bluetooth speaker - however, I haven't shared those specific files as it might be challenging to procure the exact same speaker. The screws used to attach the back and feet are M3 in size. The model is designed to utilize M3 x 6mm threaded inserts for securing the screws. To give you more printing options, I've included two versions of the main case: one that can be printed as a single piece (face down with minimal support) or divided into two halves (big flat side on bed). For the speaker grill plate, I printed it in draft quality, resulting in visible stepping, but once I obtain some more silver filament, I plan to reprint it in fine quality. The final print looks remarkably similar to the original that I've included in the picture for comparison, so I might not need to add paint to this replica.
