Aphrodite at The Louvre, Paris

This Roman reproduction of a Greek original effectively marries the Aphrodite Anadyomene motif with the 'Modest Aphrodite' depiction, showcasing the subject caught mid-recovery from emerging from the water while smoothing her hair. The unique aspect of this sculpture lies in its construction using two distinct types of marble, with the lower half crafted from Carrara marble and the upper half carved out of Island marble; this indicates that this piece likely resulted from combining two ancient sculptural fragments, which were then skillfully merged into a cohesive whole. This object is part of "Scan The World," a non-profit initiative launched by MyMiniFactory, through which we are creating an extensive digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks, and landmarks from around the globe for public access at no cost.
