This is an intriguingly weathered statue of Aphrodite, the ancient Greek deity revered for her association with love, beauty, pleasure, and fertility, who boldly wields a sword. The goddess exudes a sense of menace while paradoxically embodying elegance and femininity. A rare iconographic representation possibly inspired by Venus Victrix. The statue was unearthed in the Villa of Theseus.
