This model has reimagined two iconic female statues from the ancient Greco-Roman world, positioning them to face one another and contrast their unique attributes while blocking off the (perceived) male gaze they were originally designed to attract. Created using existing 3D models in meshmixer. Left: The Wounded Amazon sculpture, a "Sciarra type," resides at the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek in Copenhagen, Denmark. This museum acquired it in 1897 from Palazzo Sciarra after it was purchased by Cardinal del Monte in 1628 and originally discovered in Rome's former Gardens of Sallust. Right: Aphrodite Braschi originates from Quintilian's villa in Rome, is a Greek work from the 4th century B.C., and is housed at the Munich Glyptothek with the inventory number GI. 258, part of The Royal Cast Collection located in Copenhagen, Denmark.
