Aperture Master Spool

Aperture Master Spool

I needed a spool for my MasterSpool filament from 3D Solutech and couldn't find one that fit perfectly, so I stripped down their design, used the hub assembly with some modifications, and built my own. Some things to note: 1) I reduced the hub width by 5mm since my roll had a spacious gap where the filament could slide down and tangle. It fits much better now. 2) I refined many of the edges and expanded the center slightly. The center on this spool is still relatively small, so I had to adjust my filament roller, which I use on all my machines. If you're using a standard or nearly standard-size holder for your filament, you should be fine, but some fancy ball-bearing rollers might not fit. I estimate that the inner diameter (at least at the edges) is 39mm. 3) There are four holes per side to secure your filament when it's not in use. I added them recently and haven't tested them yet, but I see no reason why they shouldn't work well. 4) To have a fully functional spool, you'll need to print both halves – the short and long parts. If you only want to print half for some other purpose, go ahead. Maybe you can use it with another 3D Solutech spool or create a unique pen holder.
