Ape Escape, known as Saru Get You in Japan, is a Sony Computer Entertainment video game franchise that debuted on PlayStation in 1999 with Ape Escape. The series frequently injects ape-themed humor, innovative gameplay, and an array of pop culture references into its content; it's also notable for being the first game to require the DualShock controller. Ape Escape and several spin-offs were developed by SCEI initially, while subsequent titles such as the second, third, and various party games were created by SCE Japan Studio.
