Apatosaurus louisae

Apatosaurus, whose name translates to "deceptive lizard," was a remarkable genus of sauropod dinosaurs that roamed North America during the Late Jurassic era. The discovery and naming of Apatosaurus ajax by Othniel Charles Marsh in 1877 marked a significant milestone in paleontology, while William H. Holland discovered and identified A. louisae in 1916. These magnificent creatures lived approximately 152 to 151 million years ago, during the early Tithonian age, and their fossils are now found in the Morrison Formation of modern-day Colorado, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Utah in the United States. On average, an Apatosaurus measured about 21-22.8 meters in length and weighed between 16.4 and 22.4 tons. However, some specimens indicate that they could reach lengths up to 30% greater than their average size, with masses ranging from 32.7 to 72.6 tons.
