Aortic arch with Bicarotid Trunk anomaly.

Aortic arch with Bicarotid Trunk anomaly.

Aortic arch anomalies are extremely rare, but one such case involves an individual with a bicarotid trunk and arteria Lusoria. This condition causes both carotid arteries to branch off from a single trunk, instead of the usual separate origins. In addition to this anomaly, the subject's arteria Lusoria also has a right aberrant subclavian artery, adding to the complexity of their vascular system. A unique aspect of this case is the unusual branching location of the left vertebral artery, which shows a mild stenosis in its proximal part. The patient, a Caucasian female, has a history of vertebrobasilar insufficiency, coronary stenosis, and dysphagia, also known as Disphagia Lusoria. This rare condition was visualized using high-resolution Angio CT scans.
