This is a replacement cartridge designed specifically for the discontinued AO Safety 8000 series respirator. The mask itself features silicone and ABS construction, ensuring its reliability for several years of use. In 2007, 3M acquired Aearo, but safety regulations now prevent respirator cartridges from being compatible with other manufacturers, causing available stock on eBay to dwindle significantly. The design closely replicates the original cartridges with three minor adjustments. Firstly, I omitted modeling the bead on the sealing side of the bayonet mount, a detail that would require substantial post-processing to achieve a smooth sealing surface. Secondly, the filter assembly now allows for easy removal of the filter material. Lastly, the bayonet is not keyed, which doesn't present any functional difference compared to the actual mask where this feature didn't prevent suboptimal assembly. You will need to supply your own filter material as the cartridge itself does not include it. Yes, I have successfully printed and tested it, and it functions as expected.
