I recently experienced a frustrating issue where one of my filaments in the upper position of the extruder started to curl up excessively. This caused the thread to constantly engage with the sensor every time I began printing, creating an unwelcome scenario. To avoid making significant changes to my printer, which would require moving the sensor internally, I chose to implement a simple yet effective solution: adding a sensor protector using double-sided tape. I found that one half-ring was sufficient to prevent the filament from touching the sensor, but using two half-rings provided an added layer of protection. If they don't interfere with refueling my filaments in the future, I'll opt to keep both in place. Thanks to this quick fix, the filament no longer gets caught on the sensor, and printing has resumed smoothly.
