Anycubic Predator - Internal Filament Sensor Mount

Anycubic Predator - Internal Filament Sensor Mount

Hello! I've been working on a project all year and it's finally ready to be shared. With this simple adjustment, you can move the Predator filament sensor from outside to inside. This is a great advantage because with the original position of the sensor, sometimes after homing, when the head drops to start printing, the filament gets tangled up with the sensor and causes the head to move slowly. It's also cleaner now that the printer has been modified this way. Plus, it doesn't require any additional mechanical parts or screws - everything is reused from the original material. First things first, you'll need to print two new pieces I've designed that will be mounted after moving the filament. To do this, follow these easy steps: 1) Disconnect the connector that connects the sensor to the printer. 2) Remove the two screws that hold the sensor in place on the bottom of the top part of the printer. 3) Take out the two screws that secure the sensor to the metal support. 4) Reassemble the sensor on the metal support, using the same screws and rotating it 180 degrees (basically mounting it upside down). 5) Loosen the six screws that hold the top cover of the printer in place. 6) Remove the cover. 7) Unscrew the press-and-fit that holds the Bowden tube and take it out along with the tube itself. 8) Insert the "low" support you just printed into the hole where the press-and-fit used to be (check the photo). 9) Attach the metal support, including the previously removed sensor, to the inside of the printer using the same screws. This time, screw them in from the inside. Make sure the support is mounted so that the sensor faces the front of the printer (the display side). See the photo. 10) Remove the sensor wire from the black plastic tube and bring it inside through the same hole where the tube passes. 11) Reconnect the sensor wire connector to the sensor. 12) Put the top cover back on and tighten the screws. 13) Insert the "high" printed part (the largest one) into the central hole of the cover, making sure it fits perfectly over the sensor. There's a photo that shows the two printed parts assembled with the sensor without the cover. WARNING: Before removing the top cover, disconnect the power supply from the outlet - danger! As always, I'm not responsible for any damage to people, animals, or things. Make this modification at your own risk. Enjoy!
