Anycubic Photon Led array upgrade
thingiverse
Hi everyone!! I designed a mod for the original Anycubic Photon, which is essentially the same as the Photon S. This mod allows you to install an LED array that speeds up print times and prints evenly across the LCD. The part I used can be found on Alibaba at https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/InGaN-High-Quality-LED-LG-Chip_62425958779.html?spm=a2700.galleryofferlist.0.0.12fe573bnLfNvq&s=p, and it's also available on AliExpress. I chose ASA plastic for the mod because it can handle high temperatures and UV light. To add extra protection, I wrapped the inside with aluminum tape to reflect heat and UV light. To install the mod, you'll need to move the motherboard to the side by flipping out the handle. The LED requires 24V power, but the Photon only supplies 12V, so you'll need to solder a converter from the original LED (12-24V) to the new LED (24-50V). However, this is an inefficient solution. A better approach would be to use a single-step up converter that can handle 12V to 50V. Additionally, upgrading the PSU to something with higher amperage than its current 6A rating could result in a stronger light output. While these suggestions are not essential, they're worth considering. It's worth noting that my Photon shipped with the new Photon S board, but I don't think there would be any issues using the older one. As always, I'm not liable if anything goes wrong during installation or use of this mod. Good luck!!
