I whipped up this replacement for the original fan shroud mounting arms, as they were just too flimsy for my taste. I used 4mmx30mm screws with washers and nuts for the fan mounting, and two 3mmx15mm screws with washers to secure it to the photon. Two additional 3mmx5mm screws with washers can be used for extra stability, but weren't necessary in my case due to a carbon sponge filter mount underneath. The width of both this design and the original is precisely 1.5cm, so some filing was required before I could slide the fan in without risking damage to either it or the part. Installation is easiest when you place the bracket with the wires attached but without the fan installed. Then, secure the bracket first, and install the fan afterwards, due to limited space in the corner. To prevent screws from coming loose due to vibration, I recommend applying a tiny drop of thread-locking compound, Elmer's glue, or paint/nail polish on the screw ends before assembly.
