Super cheap, $0 if you have screws laying around, direct extruder for the Anycubic Mega X You'll need: -Some extra Bowden tube -2 M4x12mm machine screws and nuts -2 M2x5mm wood screws -Extruder extension cable OR extra extruder cable Tools: -Hex keys -Needle nose pliers -Small drill bit or needle and lighter -Razor -Screwdriver if your screws aren't hex Installation: -Remove bowden tube and top two wheels from hot end -Insert wheels through new bracket and reinstall wheels -Squeeze bracket flush with original bracket, and drill or melt pilot holes in the smaller holes above the wheel's holes -Install M2x5mm screws in the pilot holes -Remove extruder assembly from stock mounting point -Install extruder assembly on bracket but don't tighten nuts -Cut Bowden tube to fit between hotend and extruder (NOTE: Better to cut long and trim down than cut to short and throw it away) -Install extension cable or solder two extruder cables together -Secure wiring Filament feeding: -If you relocate the spool holder, no issues -If you keep stock placement, use the original bowden tube as a filament guide and secure the free end where the extruder used to be Cura Settings post-swap: -Retractions: 0.5mm-2mm -Acceleration 800mm/s^2 -Jerk 5mm/s^2
