I wanted to integrate a Repetier Server into my printer, and after researching various Raspberry Pi configurations I recalled that I had an old Lenovo Miix 10 tablet gathering dust. This Atom processor-powered device boasts 2GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, Windows 10, WiFi connectivity, and USB ports - it was the perfect candidate for the task. So I designed custom brackets to attach the tablet to the upper 2020 towers of my printer. There's ample clearance for the pulley wheels to move without interference, and the power/USB cables can be routed down the outside of the 2020 tower. My plan is to install a small USB hub inside the base of the printer and connect a USB webcam for timelapse in Repetier Server. A personalized version of this bracket has been used on my own printer, which is available for anyone to replicate or modify. The tablet measures 265x173mm with a thickness of 10mm. To facilitate customization, I'm including SketchUp files that allow users to tinker with the brackets and adapt them to fit different tablets and printers.
