Anycubic Kossel Plus bottom protection plate
thingiverse
A protective shield for the underside (and/or top) of the AnyCubib Kossel Plus. It completely covers the main board and almost all the cables. Especially useful if you have installed feet. Originally designed to print in one piece on a standard Kossel Plus. But reality can be unpredictable. In theory, it should be printable on a Kossel plus (diameter max 213 mm on a build volume of 230 mm). However, in practice, it crashes when it exceeds the 210 mm circle. Before you stop reading, there is a safer version for the Kossel Plus (see also update below). So WARNING WARNING WARNING: if you have a standard Kossel Plus with the standard firmware: Don't print the complete version of this thing on your Kossel, use the safe version. The hotend will crash and bed leveling is completely off. You'll need to re-level the bed. For more details see https://www.thingiverse.com/groups/kossel/forums/general/topic:32453#comment-2105599. This protective shield is based on my Kossel Linear Plus from 2018 with the latest stock firmware I presume (7-2017). For printing on Kossel-printers with stock-firmware, there's a safe version where you have to glue in the ridges afterwards (ridges in separate STL). Make sure it's centered in the slicer software. It's not a big deal and with good glue, no problem. Don't scale down the complete version; it won't fit. If you have another printer that's big enough, you can print the complete version on that one. If you've installed other firmware on your Kossel, you can try it at your own risk. UPDATE: According to two fellow makers (thanks), Marlin 1.1.8 and 1.1.9 should give no problems printing the complete version on your Kossel. I now have installed Marlin 1.1.9, and I can confirm it. See pictures for installation; no bolds or nuts are needed - just align and turn. Slicing in Slic3r may take a while, but Cura has no problem. Happy protecting.
