Anycubic Kossel Linear Plus Marlin 2.0.5.3 SKR1.3 TMC2209 plus .6mm Cura Profiles for PETG
thingiverse
4/26/2020 Update: I significantly reduced the download size by removing my build libraries, which was a dumb move because you'll still need to rebuild it anyway. I also toned down mA on TMC2209's to 790 to eliminate layer shifting issues I was experiencing. Ignore the calibration file; Thingiverse wouldn't let me upload without one. I got frustrated trying to piece together other people's projects, so I started from scratch and made necessary edits. If you don't want my Marlin files, just download from source and copy the platformio.ini, configuration.h, and configuration_adv.h files into your directory, then edit as needed. If you're not using a linear plus with the 240mm built-in track like sticker, you'll need to adjust configuration. My KLP has these changes: * SKR1.3 because I blew up my Trigorilla. It's currently configured for 2209's with a slight undervolt - 790mA instead of 800. Change that in configuration_adv if you don't like it. * Volcano hotend, initially because I wanted to print fast with Klipper but now I just like that it does whatever at whatever speed I want. I use the Triangle Labs with a hardened .6 nozzle. It shouldn't matter what you have; thermistor and such are the same. * .6 nozzle. THIS CONFIG IS SET FOR A .6 NOZZLE. Change it if that's not what you have. Also, Cura profiles won't help you. Check out RennWaffen's .4mm profiles if you need help; these are based on theirs but not 100% the same. * Glass bed. Not required but helpful; I print basically 100% PETG with no cooling at all except for the hotend. Use painter's tape if you can't get adhesion, slow down, and increase Z offset. PETG should ooze out without ever scraping the previous layer. * My z-probe is the on-nozzle type: https://www.aliexpress.com/i/32841920169.html, so type 1 probe offset is set for this style. MARLIN CHANGES FROM OTHER FIRMWARES: There are a bunch, but key to me: * Slowdown is OFF. IDK why so many delta SKR folks have slowdown on. * Steps at 16; I saw no benefit to 32. * Cumulative Babysteps to help you know where you're at. * Speed tweaks for homing/probing. Some of the other configs out there are SUPER slow, some are WAY too fast, slamming the nozzle into the bed for probing. This is a happy medium for me. * Fixed floating points. A LOT of custom configs out there forget decimals and it jacks things up, especially on bed size and such. I fixed that; it's even wrong in the stock Marlin config samples. * Auto-on fan at 50C. This fixes the issue of two fans showing up and having to turn on the heat sink fan manually. The only fan in the menu is now the part cooling fan. A few other bits and tweaks. Code-compare someone else's if you want to see it all. To flash: 1. In VSCode, if you're using 2209's, no need to change stepper type; if you aren't, change that in platformio.ini 2. Build/upload, restart printer. 3. M502 a few times (or load defaults from config menu, do it a few times.) 4. M500 to save the defaults (or save from config menu, do it a few times.) 5. Reboot 6. G28 to confirm homing works 7. G33 to begin z-auto probe; once you're sure it's not walking off the bed go get a drink; it's slow. 8. M500 M500 M500 M500; make sure it's all stored. 9. PID Tune Hot end (Mine: M301 P22.73 I1.95 D66.31) 10. PID Tune bed (Mine: M304 P249.46 I27.13 D1529.11) 11. M500 M500 M500 12. Follow Lukas Pomykal's guide to make sure your calibration is perfect: http://www.lpomykal.cz/3d-printers/kossel/kossel-bed-calibration-marlin-fw/ 13. M500 14. M503 to confirm your settings are right. 15. Print!
