Anycubic i3 Mega z-axis stabilizer and adjuster V1.1 ________________________________________________________________________ v1.1 Change log - Counter-sunk screw heads are now used - Design has been reinforced ________________________________________________________________________ This Stabilizer eliminates the oscillation of the Z-Axis during printing, which manifests as an unsightly shift in the layers with increasing pressure or speed. The Stabilizer greatly dampens the oscillation of the Z-Axis and transmits the remaining slight residual vibration to the Y- and X-Axes, resulting in all axes being always at a 90-degree angle to each other during printing. This enables higher print speeds, jerk, and acceleration values for X/Y while maintaining consistent print quality. Additionally, this Stabilizer allows for precise adjustment of the Z-Axis. The following is required for installation: - Printed parts M1-M4 (Infill 100%) - 4 x M6 x 25mm internal hex screws + corresponding tap and drill bits - 4 x M6 spacers (no body panels) - 8 x M4 x 20mm internal hex screws - 8 x M4 screw locknuts - 2 x 8 x 330mm linear rods or e.g. shafts - P400 sandpaper Installation: 1. Deburr the mating surfaces of the holders M1 to M4 with sandpaper and attach the linear rods from both ends at 5, 15, and 25mm with a circumferential groove (e.g. using a corner sander). The latter serves to securely hold the very smooth linear rods. 2. Attach holder M1 and M4 each with 2 M4 screws and locknuts. 3. Connect holders M1 and M4 with linear rod and lightly tighten M4 screws. The distance between both holders should be approximately 255mm. 4. Align holders (M1 top/M4 bottom) at the device so that mating surfaces lie completely flat against each other. The position of the entire stabilizer is thus determined automatically. (see images below) 5. Mark the holes for the M6 threads on the printer casing. 6. Drill and tap holes for the M6 threads. 7. Attach Stabilizer with M6 screws including spacers. Screw at top holder (M1) on rear side mark and cut to length in disassembled state, so that it protrudes no more than 2mm from rear side (see image below). 8. Repeat points 2-7 on the right side. M1 = M2 / M4 = M3 9. Align Z-Axis and tighten all screws securely
