Anycubic I3 Mega Upgrade - Filament Sensor Holder
thingiverse
Here I created a custom mount for the filament sensor that works perfectly with my Anycubic I3 Mega 3D printer, which is upgraded with the new E3D Extruder from the Mega S model. Be aware that this upgrade may not work correctly if you're still using the standard extruder from your original printer; if you try it and succeed, please let me know! To make this custom mount, you will need: 2 x M3x20mm screws 2 x M3x12mm screws The only critical print setting to consider is the infill percentage. To ensure a stable and secure holder, use an infill of more than 50%. Note: I had some issues with previous versions (V1) that required small X/Y corrections to prevent the filament from moving erratically. Version V2 addressed some key problems: - Corrected the sensor position for better alignment - Changed the mount hole diameter for a secure fit - Thickened the base by 2mm for added stability However, I encountered two main issues with this version: - The filament sometimes moved directly to the corner, causing uneven prints. To resolve these issues, I created Version V3: - Printed in black to improve visibility - Added a fillet on the front where the filament moves to prevent snagging Recently, I upgraded my E3D Extruder to the E3D Titan model and modified the bracket for a seamless fit. It now works perfectly with my custom mount. I hope you enjoy using this custom mount!
