I used a piece of bowden tubing to link the small guide hole to the extruder, as it's such a sharp bend that direct connection might not work so well without it. Luckily, this hack allows it to function, but I've designed an alternative version using an old hard drive bearing or spindle, which may perform better for some users - you can check it out at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2776254. I recently acquired an Anycubic i3 Mega for my class and aimed to create a spool holder that integrates seamlessly into the printer's design, eliminating the need for an external acrylic holder. I came up with this concept and employed an I-Beam structure to support the arm, allowing spools of up to 100mm in width and 250mm in diameter to fit comfortably. Additionally, the central hole can accommodate a 2-inch or larger diameter. The symbol on the plate represents my engineering class as makers, showcasing our creativity and ingenuity. Feel free to use it! Please note that the stock screws won't work with this print; I've aligned the holes to match those of the original screw holes but added some extra height adjustment for a secure fit. To compensate, you'll need screws that are 3mm longer than the standard ones - specifically, M3x8 instead of the usual M3x5.
