Anycubic I3 Mega S spool holder
thingiverse
As everyone knows, the Anycubic i3 Mega S comes equipped with a built-in spool holder. Unfortunately, I have some filament spools with smaller inner diameters and / or larger widths that don't fit on the standard spool holder. My first temporary fix was a round piece of wood. Now, I've designed an enclosed filament holder consisting mainly of a threaded bolt that holds the filament spool and a nut that keeps it in place. I've added a small M3 thread to the nut for extra protection against loosening during printing. After the first print with standard tolerances, it was extremely difficult to get the nut and bolt sliding smoothly. It took me half an hour, some oil, a steel brush, and plenty of patience. Following that, I increased the clearances on both the nut and bolt by 0.1mm, but didn't test it further. The enclosed files contain the updated version with larger clearances. If you find this still too tight, please let me know.
