Anycubic i3 mega-s extruder mount tpu dampener. (For noise reduction)
thingiverse
I created this to minimize the transmission of vibrations and rattling from my extruder to the base. It works decently well. To install, simply slide it in and secure with screws. I initially used the "dummy thicc" version, which required slightly longer screws. As a result, I designed a thinner alternative, hoping that it would allow users to employ stock screws and consequently a thin Allen wrench as well. If you prefer using a thicker Philips screwdriver, simply loosen the extruder cover by a hair to create space for the driver. This should be helpful! EDIT: One user pointed out that this design only accommodates the MEGA-S. If someone could provide details on what a standard Mega looks like, I may be able to craft a version for it. For optimal results, use TPU or any other flexible filament (TPE, etc.). To avoid over-dampening, limit the percentage of flex material to 10-25%. Higher percentages will render the material too rigid and ineffective at dampening vibrations. On my setup, even 25% feels quite solid while still slightly reducing vibration. To ensure proper adhesion, place it on its thin side and minimize or eliminate supports altogether. For a successful print, keep the number of shells and bottom/top layers to three at most.
