ANYCUBIC i3 Mega-S Coldend Cover
thingiverse
This is a simple accessory designed to cover the bottom of the coldend cover on X carriage. Its purpose is clear: to prevent air used for cooling from also cooling the print. This can lead to warping or delamination with ABS and other materials, unless you're only using PLA. The reasons against it are equally straightforward: installing this feature will reduce cooling efficiency, causing stringing problems and exacerbating issues with the bowden extruder. To overcome these issues, you'll need to create new profiles for your printer and materials, making this upgrade far from plug-and-play. Use it only if you're experiencing overcooling issues. For optimal results, I recommend using stainless steel instead of aluminum, as it conducts less heat from the cold end to the carriage. However, keep in mind that steel can rust and any paint near a hotend will eventually burn. ###Disclaimer You assume full responsibility for any risks involved in this modification.
