Anycubic i3 Mega Raspberry Pi Camera Holder
thingiverse
This is a custom-made camera holder for a Raspberry Pi, specifically designed for use with OctoPrint and featuring programmable LED lights. The LEDs are powered directly by the printer's PSU and are rated at 12 volts; I've installed three in my setup but there's sufficient space to accommodate four. The warm white hue of my LEDs looks great, but you might prefer the colder tone - it's a matter of personal taste. To ensure a strong and durable build, print the main body using PETG exclusively, as PLA becomes prone to softening when exposed to heat from the LEDs. In contrast, the camera cover can be printed with PLA. This innovative design enables the holder to slide effortlessly over the frame without requiring any additional fasteners or fixings. Moreover, it features a subtle upward tilt, which helps optimize image quality. To prevent glare and eye strain when viewing your printer, the LED cover is thoughtfully designed to shield your view. For optimal performance, however, you'll need to recalibrate your Raspberry Pi Camera's focus settings.
