Anycubic i3 Mega Quiet and Cold Hotend Cooler v1.0 ______________________________________________________________________ Warning: This cooler is only compatible with a shortened V5 hotend. Simply remove the two bottom cooling fins to achieve this. Since the hotend cooling of the i3 Mega or i3-Mega S comes standard, it's quite loud and ineffective, here's a small solution. The following benefits result from this cooling variant: - Only one fan with low RPM (air flow) is required, which has reduced noise levels in my case by four times (40dB -> 20dB/Original Fan -> Sunon MF40101V2-1000U-A99) - Temperature at the Heatbreak (Throat) is reduced from >60°C to <40°C despite lower noise and air flow - More even pressure temperature, as the heating block is no longer cooled - Faster heating Drawbacks: - A new filament cooler must be installed You can find a suitable one here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3990122 The following items are required for installation: - Printed heat sink cooler (Infill 15%) - 0.5 mm Aluminum sheet, 30x50 mm Installation: 1. The printed cooler must be equipped with a sheet on the underside (see image below). This can be inserted from both sides and must have a hole for the Throat. 2. Assemble and done! 3. Those who want to improve performance even further can cut open the side openings, as shown in the images.
