Human: Anycubic i3 Mega optical endstops for z-level Since the simple Microtasters of i3 Mega are not sufficient for z-Leveling in my opinion and the print bed always needs to be set up again, I have equipped the Z-endstops with optical barriers. The following is needed for installation: - Marlin 1.1.9 Firmware - Printed parts i3 Mega Screw fix 1 and 2 (Infill 100%) - 5VDC Power Supply (I use a voltage converter 12VDC -> 5VDC, which is connected directly to the internal power supply of Anycubic.) - 2 x original Anycubic i3 Mega Contact Switch - 2 x Optical Barrier for Arduino https://eckstein-shop.de/10mm-Lichtschranke-Photoelectric-Infrarot-Zaehler-Counter-Sensor-Modul?curr=EUR&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIi_XD6I6V5QIViOJ3Ch0Rlw2EEAQYBCABEgLg9_D_BwE Installation: 1. Mount the printed parts i3 Mega Screw fix 1 and 2 to the leveling screw of the printer (Picture 3 and 4). 2. Separate the optical barrier area from the rest of the board and cut the ground connections in the middle on top and bottom of the board (also see Picture 2). 3. Disconnect the original contact switch from the board. The solder pads/pins must remain in place, as they are needed for securing and powering the optical barrier. Disconnect the negative pole of the LED on the board (Picture 1). 4. Create ground connections and (+) collector connection (Picture 2). 5. Connect the (-) side of the LED to the (+) emitter (Picture 2). 6. Connect the positive terminal of the external power supply to the V connector on the back of the board (Picture 1) 7. Connect the connectors to the printer correctly (+) -> S and (-) -> G (Picture 1 - Attention: The color of the cables does not indicate the connection! Green can also be (-).) 8. Connect everything, install it, and almost done! 9. Edit the firmware lines in Marlin 1.1.9 as shown in Picture 6 and load the firmware onto the printer. 10. No more problems with z-Leveling again.
