Anycubic i3 Mega - LED Upgrade with Switch
thingiverse
I loved the concept of upgrading my printer with an LED light, but since it prints throughout the night, I needed a button to turn off the light. So, I combined the ring design with a switch and mounted it to the side of my printer. For those who are unsure about what to do here is a brief summary: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ffa_gQcln8Q&feature=youtu.be You will need: - 2 new M3 x 20mm screws - One LED ring with 80mm and 12 Volts - Switch, for example [ebay example](https://www.ebay.de/itm/Miniatur-Kippschalter-EIN-AUS-Modelbau-Boot-KFZ-2-3-4-6-pins-12-V-L%C3%B6t%C3%B6sen-%C3%986mm/222392954484?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&var=521261917658&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649) - hot glue gun or something else to attach the LED ring to the printed LED ring holder - thin cable 40-50cm - double-sided adhesive tape 1. Print the LED Ring holder and secure the LED ring to it. 2. Print the switch case, if you are using this switch please scale it first (130% x and y, 160% z) and attach the switch to it. 3. Remove the filament from my printer, disconnect the green main cable from the nozzle, and take out the 4 screws I marked in the picture. 4. You can remove the piece with the fan now, of course disconnecting the cables first. 5. Take out the two screws from the fan and place the LED ring there using the two new M3x20 screws. 6. Connect the new extension cable to the fan cable and guide one to the switch. The fan will still work because it is always connected to power, as shown in the picture. 7. Hide the cables and secure everything. Done! The summary is very simplified but you should get the idea. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask. Best regards,
