The Anycubic i3 Mega 3D printer is a fantastic machine with a built-in filament sensor, but unfortunately, the sensor's mounting system often causes it to come loose during printing, leading to annoying ticking sounds due to each filament short release. To address this issue, I designed an extension that aligns the filament perfectly with the extruder while still using the standard holder and magnet. You can find this design on Thingiverse, but even with the extender, the sensor would sometimes come loose again. Frustrated by this problem, I created a new holder that replaces the original one with a magnet. This new design aligns the filament perfectly with the extruder, eliminating the issue of the sensor coming loose during printing. However, it requires two small screws and nuts to secure the filament sensor in place. The screws are approximately 2cm long and 3mm thick, passing through the new holder's holes and the existing ones on the sensor. For a permanent solution, I recommend using my custom sensor holder in conjunction with my filament click guide, which you can also find on Thingiverse. This combination ensures smooth and hassle-free printing with your Anycubic i3 Mega 3D printer.
