Dual Ball Bearing Universal Cone Filament Spool Holder. I recently had issues with my 3D printed spool holder, so I decided to design a quick-change dual ball bearing spool holder that solves these problems. This design fits perfectly with Kurioso's spool bracket (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2647030). Thanks go out to him for his excellent design. Here are the materials you'll need: PLA filament 4 x 608ZZ bearings, which can be found very cheaply on Amazon in a size of 22mmx8mmx7mm 1 x 5/16-18 threaded rod 2 x 5/16-18 nuts For optimal strength, I recommend printing with an infill of 80 to 100% using a zigzag pattern. The cones can be printed at a layer height of 0.3mm for better grip on the spool. Supports must be enabled for both parts. After printing five sets, I found that installing them onto my favorite spools of filament takes only five seconds. Simply slide it over the bracket and you're done! No more spool jumping or irregular behavior from the way your spool turns around the support.
