This is my custom hotend setup for the i3 Mega printer.\r\n\r\nTo install this hotend, you'll need to get the specific carriage:\r\nhttps://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2838383\r\nWhile it may seem daunting to remove so many parts from your printer to fit this carriage, rest assured that it's surprisingly simple.\r\nThis universal carriage allows you to easily mount various hotends on your printer, such as the one found here:\r\nhttps://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2894777 \r\n\r\nI designed this setup with several key features in mind:\r\n1) It prints perfectly without support material.\r\n2) The detachable pieces make maintenance and customization a breeze.\r\n This design also simplifies the printing process significantly.\r\n3) I've included space for a BL Touch sensor; however, please note that I haven't yet tested this feature.\r\n4) The direct cooling fan shroud slides into place and is secured with just one screw.\r\n You can easily customize it or swap out the new one - if you design an improved version, feel free to let me know, as I might be interested in swapping mine for yours or incorporating your design into my project.\r\n\r\nPlease note the following:\r\n\r\n1) There's a minor issue: the X carriage has the little PCB mounted too close to the wire connectors, making it tricky to route the wires properly.\r\n I'm working on replacing this part with a better one that can be easily swapped out.\r\n Additionally, I plan to remove the entire PCB and use Dupont connectors for the wiring.\r\n\r\n2) The hotend is slightly longer than the original style, but adjusting the direct cooling fan shroud should compensate for this difference.
