Anycubic i3 Mega Cable Holder
thingiverse
I started having trouble with the extruder cable connection, just like many other users. The cable wouldn't budge, but my prints were suffering from unstable extruder temperatures, particularly when I was printing large objects. The temperature was fluctuating wildly between 200 C and 230 C, even though I had set it to a steady 240 C. After doing some research and trying various fixes, including holding the cable in place by hand, I finally realized that the problem was caused by movement at the connector. This realization led me to want to make another improvement - to keep the cable from reducing the maximum height when printing tall objects. That's when I decided to design a solution of my own. After six iterations, I printed the final design you see in the photos, made from ABS plastic. You can watch a video demonstrating how it works at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SfA1AnyPR94. Unfortunately, this design is not compatible with the latest model of my printer.
