Why make the upgrade? If you upgrade to an e3d v6 and want to print at higher speeds like 80mm/s+, your extruder may start clicking and skipping steps. So a motor upgrade can help out greatly. It will enable your extruder to push more filament with ease. In my case, I used an Nema17 48mm. Because the standard extruder holder isn't perfect for the 48mm upgrade, I designed a new holding system that works great in my situation and also stabilizes the weight in the middle of the Z-axis. This upgrade also allows for cable management and a filament sensor holder. If you don't need the sensor anymore, like me, because it can be faulty on transparent filament, you can clip the filament sensor onto my holder. But you must extend the wiring from the sensor; otherwise, it will rip off in mid-print.
