Anycubic Chiron magnetic dual fan mount and duct
thingiverse
This design was inspired by thing:3195516 but while it retains all of its initial benefits, it has undergone significant modifications and does not aim to be a direct conversion for MK8. Instead, I am focusing on upgrading the current fans of the Chiron's carriage. There are 10x10x2 placements for magnets that can be used to mount this fan casing without screws or in combination with original screws. To ensure a secure connection even at high speeds, it is recommended to glue three spots of very thin magnets (0.5 mm neodymium) to the carriage. Alternatively, you can use 1 or two screws in conjunction with magnets that stick to the metal carriage but need to prevent shifting left or right during printer movements. Normal, non-radial, and non-noisy 40x40 fans can now be mounted on one or both sides of the printer. Keep in mind that the original radial fan is a 24v fan. If you have silent 12v fans like me, there are several options to mount them with this design: * Quick method: Use two identical 12v fans in series mode (fan1 red wire to 24v, fan1 black wire to fan2 red wire and fan2 black wire to null). However, fans must be identical to receive the same voltage; otherwise, they may not function properly. * Normal method: Change the FAN_SPEED_MAX in Marlin to 128 instead of 255 and re-flash the firmware. This requires PWM mode. * Other hacks: Use a downstepper to reduce fan voltage to 12v. The second (optional) fan duct is a magnetic snap that takes the place of the bed leveler magnet. When leveling your bed, you can simply remove it and then put it back when finished. If you download this design, please give it a like. Update: Version 1.1 solidifies the left corner screw. Update 11/11/18: Version 1.2 corrects fan holes that were too small on both sides. Update 14/11/18: Version 1.3 adds cable management holes.
