Any Size Core XY Table
thingiverse
I'm excited to share with you my XYcore table, a project that drew inspiration from "bot of the cloth" but took on its own unique identity. As a maker who loves sewing patterns, I envisioned this table as not just a drawing aid but also a potential game-changer in 3D printing. Although I've only built a demo model so far, I'm eager to add the electronics and bring it to life. One of the best things about my XYcore table is its scalability - if you have a long enough GT2 belt and 8mm rod, you can easily create a much larger version than the demo. Just clamp those corners to a sturdy table or use some really long T-slot pieces, and you're good to go. To bring this project to life, I'll need to add two motors, a bunch of 608 bearings, a couple of LMU8's, a microcontroller, and motor drivers. It might seem like a daunting task, but trust me when I say it's worth the effort. If you're feeling nostalgic, you could always opt for a more old-school approach - just hand-turn the XYcore table and relive the simple joys of an Etch A Sketch. But where's the fun in that?
