Anubis was often portrayed as weighing the soul with the scales of truth, and many assumed that made Anubis the God of the Dead. That honorific actually belonged to Osiris. In actuality Anubis is the leader of her people. Her people studied the Afterlife, or Duat as their cultural obligation! They transcended Mortality into Divinity as they become more attuned to the Mysteries of Life and Death. When her people ascended into Divinity the bond they shared with the species of Ammit allowed them to Ascend as well! Her companionship with Ammit is why she was depicted with the head of a Jackal in Egyptian culture! This bond has stood the test of time, Ascension and into Divinity!
