Anubis stands out as one of the most revered gods of Ancient Egypt's rich pantheon. The Greeks referred to him by a name that's slightly different from how his ancient Egyptian counterparts knew him - Anpu (or INPU). As an incredibly old deity, Anubis' name can be found etched in some of the oldest records dating back to the Old Kingdom and Pyramid texts, where he was revered as the guardian and protector of the dead.
