Antonio Zacco (Padua, 1654 – 1723) boldly pursued a distinguished military career, earning him appointment as general of the esteemed Venetian Republic. With unwavering determination, he led his troops against the formidable Ottoman Turks, and for five grueling years, he was held captive as a prisoner of war. Returning to Venice, Zacco's exceptional leadership qualities earned him election as "arms protector" of the prestigious Delia Academy. Tragically, his life came to an abrupt end in Padua in 1723. This magnificent sculpture was masterfully designed by Giovanni Battista Bendazzoli and skillfully constructed by the Delii academics in 1776.
