A strike plate for mortise locks can be printed with a raft due to difficulty in printing flat items with holes on a Makerbot without. This is particularly useful for older houses where door positions have changed over time, causing mismatches between latches and strike plates. The design allows for adjustment of hole placement, enabling prototyping before having it cut into sheet brass. Standard settings yield durable prints that are less visible in black, making brass versions unnecessary until needed.
