Mounted on a sturdy body of Hercules, this magnificent work showcases the artistic mastery of its creators. Typically referred to as part of the "Albani collection" in the Louvre's catalogues and inventories, this piece was actually seized from the Braschi collection. The crates holding confiscated works from Rome were stored together before arriving in Paris, resulting in a chaotic mix-up upon arrival.
