The Anticovid-19 3D Printable Respirator ===================================== This respirator is designed to provide individual protection for healthy people. However, it's crucial not to use it for patients suspected or confirmed to have a Covid-19 infection. Please note that you're using this respirator at your own risk. I created it for myself and offer no guarantees about its effectiveness against viruses or any potential health damage. Operating Principle ------------------- The respirator works as follows: * Input filters provide filtering within their capabilities. * The outlet valve allows air to be exhausted during exhalation, minimizing moisture accumulation inside the respirator. Benefits -------- This respirator offers several benefits: * The ability to install a two-layer combined filter using any available effective filters like HEPA or non-traditional materials. * Easy disassembly for disinfection before reuse. * The respirator is adjusted to fit the profile of your face during manufacture. Disadvantages -------------- There are some disadvantages to consider: * The respirator must be disinfected after use. Manufacturing ------------- To create this respirator, follow these steps: 1. Print all the elements. 2. Use a hot air source (such as a soldering station) to warm up the mask plastic and adjust the respirator to your face shape. 3. Apply soft silicone along the edge of the respirator for a more comfortable contact with your face. Next, cut and install the filter elements using affordable materials with air filtering properties like HEPA paper, cotton pads, etc. The diameter of the filter element should be approximately 42mm. Cut and install the valve disc into the lower hole. You can use thin rubber or any smooth plastic sheet material like polyester film or polyethylene. The outer diameter of the disc is 28.5 mm. After assembly, try on the respirator and check for air leaks. Disinfection ------------- To disinfect the respirator: 1. Remove and disassemble it using plastic gloves. Dispose of the replaceable filters. 2. Put all plastic parts into soapy water. Wash them and then rinse with cold water. 3. Place all the parts under a UV lamp or dry them in the open air under sunlight. 4. Use an alcohol antiseptic for disinfection.
