I wanted to try the authors best version of this kit, but I did not want to convert my machine to direct drive as needed so the part would fit. Instead I redesigned the top portion of the authors original item to include a longer neck that allows the entire mechanism to mount below the bowden extruder motor. This was measured to fit my Elegoo Neptune2. I am not sure if this adjustment will fit the ender3 or other ender3 clones. You may need to shorten or lengthen the neck. The goal is to for the neck to extend just past the stepper motor, but not by so much that you loose the needed space below to mount the other two parts and brass nut onto the lead screw. Perhaps someone with a Ender3/pro could test and/or edit the neck length if needed for the ender3 setup. I can only verify this works on my Neptune2 I also used m3 equivalent 19mm(3/4 in) mini wood screws instead of m3x8mm machine screws. I find the coarse threads self tap into the plastic much better than machine screws, and since the neck is now extended longer I opted to use longer screws for more strength in the part. I recommend tapping the screws into the part then removing them before assembling it all onto the machine. Printed with 3 walls, and 40% infill for strength and durability.
