anti z-wobble, M8, 8 mm guide
thingiverse
Yet another anti-wobble part that I use on my GeeeTech i3 printer but should fit other printers with an M8 lead screw and an 8 mm guide rod. Maybe not the Anet A8, which may have a proper lead screw. This one is reasonably flat, so you shouldn't need to raise your printing platform as I did with some of the other designs I tried. With this design, the force of the x-axis assembly completely rests on the M8 nut. The smooth rod arms are used only for torque on the nut and act like a wrench, not transferring vertical forces. The arms are flat enough to fit under the sliding bearings on the rod. You'll need a pair of standard M8 hex nuts. Here's a before-and-after comparison with the red parts: philbarrenger's monster mouth headphone holder, which I reprinted to get rid of the "nail file" ridges after discovering what was causing them.
