Anti-wobble bed holders for Rapman
thingiverse
These bed holders aim to solve the XY wobble caused by crooked threaded rods while preventing upper bed shaking in relation to the lower bed on 3 springy M8 bolts. They also allow for height adjustment at all four corners, rather than just three points. This is version 15 of my design, though it doesn't eliminate wobble entirely. I am open to suggestions for improvement. Installation may be a hassle initially due to partial disassembly but they are designed for easy upgrades. The installation process involves removing the entire bed and loosening the Z belt. Original bed holders and threaded rods must also be removed, being careful not to lose nuts as springs will come into play. Replace these with new nuts and reassemble corners if necessary. Cut 12mm-diameter rods to 365mm length, drill holes in them, and attach to bed holders using nuts and M4 bolts. Linear bearings are then attached to larger bed holder pieces with M3 bolts, nuts, and washers as shown. The lower part of the print bed is assembled on the printer and placed atop the inner assembly. Springs are inserted in spring receptacles and long M3 bolts are used to compress them before fitting a nut. The top part of the bed is then installed without springs, using a spacer if needed for clearance. Corner height is adjusted by turning Z rods, and the Z belt is refitted. Remember, there are plenty of steps but it's quite simple once you see the photos. To obtain necessary items, get 12x linear bearings and 8x 35mm M3 bolts.
