Anti-Warping Block, Truncated Octahedrons
thingiverse
The thermal shrinkage of printed objects results in border area bending due to warping. This can be minimized by structuring most horizontal layers as squares, allowing isolated squares to shrink without affecting the entire object's bend. Utilize this OpenSCAD script to generate custom blocks of xyz size, considering the total number of elements for calculation time efficiency. This concept mirrors the cubic crystal structure of Sodalith (#218, P43n). Testing revealed durability with 73 kg weight and a wooden support; however, it may explode under high tension if broken apart. V2 optimizes script preview in Customizer for faster previews. Adjust wall thickness based on your printer's nozzle size and desired stability, with larger values calculated using OpenSCAD if necessary, but be cautious as it may crash at around 4000 elements.
